Riviera Maya, Mexico

I just returned from the Riviera Maya (eastern coast of Mexico) where there is a vacation waiting for everyone. Whether it's a luxurious boutique resort, an upscale adults only resort or a more affordable family resort, the Mayan Riviera where you can spend your days just dreamily sipping a drink on the beach or never having the chance because of the numerous activities offered.

Snorkeling and SCUBA on your list? The Mayan Riviera offers some of the most spectacular water and diverse underwater life, day and night. Whether you put on a mask and snorkel to just swim ,off the beaches or you take a snorkel or dive boat excursion, you will be amazed at the fish that you see! For diving buffs, Cozumel has some of the most beautiful reefs and best drift diving in the world.

Take a catamaran day excursion for even more than snorkeling. Most come with food, drinks, some stop at other beaches or coves....and then there's the partying. Some tours will stop at Tulum (spectacular Mayan ruins on the coast).Isle Mujueres .(small island off of Cancun with white powdery sand beaches, fishing village, smaller beautiful resorts and sea turtles seasonally). In Akumal, you can swim off the beach in March and share the waters with giant sea turtles,

Chichen Itza is hone to the most famous ruins on the Yucatan peninsula, it is a full day excursion since the ride from Cancun is about 3 hours (depending on where you are staying), and worth the trip. In March there is a unique opportunity to see something amazing during the equinox. And as I mentioned ,before, Tulum is another area with majestic ruins, along the sea in the Mayan Riviera, which you can do as a half or whole day excursion. If you don't want the long drive, it's the place to go.

In the mood for an adrenaline rush? Zip lines! There are numerous companies offering zip line tours. Spend a half day flying over jungles, fields ... Exhilarating! It's a blast. If you want to stay closer to the ground, how about swimming with dolphins, manatees, stingrays or sharks?! Find out which company is closest to your resort.

Ecological parks? Two great ones are Xcaret and Xel Ha (the "x" is pronounced "sh"). They offer beaches, snorkeling, underground rivers, cenotes, diving, swimming with marine mammals, native animals, aquarium, shows, food and drink .... And I am probably leaving out a lot more!

Let's not forget about night life. Most all inclusive resorts have shows, bars open late and discos, so if you dont want to venture out, you won't be sitting in your room. If you want more, the hotel zone of Cancun is overflowing with bars and dance clubs that are open all night long! There are bar crawls that you can book so you can get safely back to your hotel, even if you don't remember getting there.

Want to just lie on the beach or by the pool and relax? All the resorts have a place where you can escape the crowds for some peace and quiet!

All you have to do is decide on travel dates, budget, type of resort, and list any activities that you are interested in. Then call me and I can help you plan your vacation that will create great memories.
